Salary paid to the student for his/her work is agreed upon by the employer and the student. Preferred wages would be on an hourly basis. If this is not possible, the firm should consider a lump sum payment equal to the student's registration fees. While the Architectural Studies Department prefers the student receive some remuneration, some situations may warrant a student working for experience and course credit with no monetary compensation. While the internship experience can provide benefits to the firm as well as the student, it is also realized that taking on an intern requires time on the part of the student's sponsor and other employees with whom the student works. |
