Active interaction between students and practicing professionals leads to a vibrant and relevant program. We want to develop a directory of alumni and friends who are interested in becoming more involved in design classes and program development. The directory will be presented to faculty to utilize as they plan the semester. Nancy Schultz, Director of Development for the College works with the department to determine development goals and identify alumni, friends and industry that may wish to support the Department of Architectural Studies. The Department has engaged in a long-term development plan that involves the advisory board, organized alumni events, and personal contacts with successful alumni, friends and industry. Results of the plan have been the establishment of endowed scholarships, both undergraduate and graduate, and enhancement funds to support teaching, research, and facilities. Architectural Studies was the first department in the College to establish an endowment, in perpetuity, whose investment earnings are used to meet current and future needs.
