Naming a Place at Mizzou

Architectural Studies educates future design practitioners, advances research of the built environment, and disseminates knowledge to improve quality of life for people. The program strives to provide students with experiences and design skills that allow them to design meaningful spaces and enhance human life. The program emphasizes a quest for true artistic beauty, response to needs of people, and building techniques based on precision, truthfulness, and sincerity. Good design bonds together the pleasure of beauty, stimulation of the mind, and reasoned adaptation to existing conditions.

Alumni and friends may invest in naming opportunities for design studios, seminar room, iLab, and offices. These gifts would establish new unrestricted endowments that would be used to address the needs of a particular room or suite on the second floor of Stanley Hall. Funds would support facility renovations, instructional programs, research, students, and/or faculty.

  • Design Studio Suite 227, 228, 229 Stanley $50,000 (each) or $150,000 (for suite)
Utilized for instruction, critiques, and guest presentations. This will be the largest open area available to the Department and utilized for Department-wide orientation sessions and Advisory Board Forums.
  • Innovation Studio 226 Stanley $100,000
Utilized for advanced instruction and equipped with network and electrical capability.
  • iLab - 233 Stanley $500,000
Utilized for instruction and research. In its early development phase, the iLab is equipped with advanced visualization software and high end graphic workstations. Funding would support advanced technology for instruction and research such as eye-tracking hardware, bio-feedback, motion capture, and high-end software as well as graduate assistantships.
  • Design Studio (reserved) 231 Stanley $50,000
Utilized for instructions, critiques, and guest presentations.
