Anna Ives is the managing partner of Patterhn Ives and has served as a visiting assistant professor at Washington University in St. Louis. She has a diverse portfolio of award-winning work focusing on community-based projects, higher education, historic restoration, and planning. Anna approaches the practice of architecture with criticality, rigor, patience, and persistence.
With degrees from Bryn Mawr College and Columbia University, Anna’s education and background bring considerable depth to the practice of architecture. Prior to her graduate education, she studied economics with a focus on international finance. Anna’s thoughtful approach to design balanced with her innate ability in management and language consistently garners trust and appreciation among our many clients and colleagues.
Eric Hoffman is a leading architect and educator with over twenty-five years of experience. As a founding partner of Patterhn Ives, and in collaboration with numerous firms, Eric has designed and led a diverse range of award-winning cultural, civic, public, and academic projects including the Walker Art Center with HGA & Herzog and de Meuron and the St. Louis Art Museum expansion with HOK & David Chipperfield Architects. His commitment to design, innovation, mentorship, and the environment was recognized with a National AIA Young Architects Award in 2013.
As a Professor of Practice, Eric has taught at numerous schools across the Midwest including Washington University in St. Louis and is an influential voice shaping the future of architectural practice. Eric’s lasting relationships with clients, consultants, contracting teams, students, and communities serve as his highest measure of professional success.
Tony Patterson is a founding partner of Patterhn Ives with over twenty years of experience, consistently recognized for clarity in design thinking and project execution. After graduating with honors from the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas, Tony worked in the acclaimed offices of Marlon Blackwell Architects in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Tony has contributed to numerous award-winning projects highly regarded for a focus on region, community, experience, and environment.
Tony has been a visiting instructor at Washington University in St. Louis, as well as lecturer in architecture and advanced construction technology at the University of Michigan.
