Project: Initials

As an introductory project, student will compose a creative representation of themselves with their initials utilizing hand-drafting techniques.

Students will be introduced to basic drafting training, including competencies such as line quality, line weight, geometric construction, orthographic drawing, and tonal value techniques.
Students will create a design composition drawing incorporating a unique arrangement of each’s initials, combined with a thematic background that speaks to their identity,
Using geometry, construction lines, a “Cartesian” coordinate system, tonal value techniques, and drafting equipment, letters will be accurately constructed using a grid.
