Steven O. Aydelott
Steven O. Aydelott is pursuing his PhD in Environmental Architecture at the University of Missouri. He is a graduate from Southern Illinois University with a Master of Architecture and is an Alumni of the Auburn University School of Architecture where he received his Degree in Bachelor of Science: Building Science. His research areas are in paradigm shifts from maintenance to preservation , including sustainable passive design elements. Steven is certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a licensed Architect in nine states. He is a licensed General Contractor in seven states and is licensed by the Southern Building Code Congress International as a Building Inspector. Steven is also a longstanding member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Steven has thirty years of Design-Build experience and owns two companies: S.O.A.,INC and Aydelott Architecture, LLC. Steven is currently designing and building commercial projects in Southeast America. Utilizing his professional experience and education, Steven is a Part-Time Instructor of Architecture at Kennesaw State University. He teaches ARCH 2211 – Intro to Structures, 2242- Design Communication II, ARCH 2311 -Systems Selection & Materials, and ARCH 3211 – Arch Structures II Steel & Wood. His teaching philosophy is to mentor students and facility further development of their professional aptitude in the field of construction management and keep pace with an ever-evolving construction industry. His primary objective is to instill and stimulate a desire for life-long learning and development of the construction industry.
