Solar Decathlon

Presented by Hayley Frank and Ezra Stimac, Revive Blind Boone is an Attached Housing Exhibition that showcased at the 2024 Solar Decathlon. The project’s main objective involves creating spaces promoting comfort, safety, affordability, accessibility and within a retrofit of existing 1960s Housing Projects in Columbia, Missouri. By creating a new shed-roof system that supports photovoltaic and water collection systems, while simultaneously expanding the footprint of the building, REVIVE acts as a scalable case study on sustainability in low-income housing. Through thoughtful, user-driven design REVIVE will increase occupant comfort both indoor and outdoor with community patios and gardens, passive strategies, ventilation, and a sense of place.
